It’s vital for companies to provide a positive experience for their users through a user-friendly website in order to be successful. 1) Site Navigation

Having a simple, to the point site navigation is important. As soon as a user lands on your website, you want to make it easy for them to navigate. Think about when you enter a brick and mortar storefront. More than likely there is someone there to greet you and to ask you if you have any questions, or there’s usually at least signs pointing to where things are located within the store. A website should operate the same way in the sense that things should be clearly labeled and easy to find. A clear navigation menu makes it easier for search engines to understand and index your site, so making sure to incorporate a short menu that is easy and fast for people to read through is important (like: Home, About Us, Services/Products, Contact Us, etc. are generally the information that users will be looking for).

2) Responsive Design

We can’t stress responsive design enough. When we refer to “responsive design” we’re referring to your website structure being able to adapt to different size screens. Nothing worse than visiting a website on your phone that cuts off font or the text is too small to read, that’s an overall bad user experience. Research done by Google has found that 53% of mobile website users will leave if a website doesn’t load within 3 seconds. 3 seconds! That’s all the time it takes for someone to make a decision whether or not they’ll stay on your website which is why it’s so important to have a website that displays well across all different kinds of devices.

3) Clear Call-To-Actions (CTAs)

Call-To-Actions are one of the most important attributes on a website. If implemented on-site appropriately, it can be the determining factor between a lead and a conversion. Leads, conversions, profit, you name it, depends on the call to actions that are strategically located on your website. Basically, a CTA is an invitation for someone to take action. Verbiage such as “Click here” or “Sign Up Now” are common ones. Sometimes they are just hyperlinked text, images, or buttons. No matter what kind of CTA format you choose, the important thing to keep in mind is to make it clear to the user what you want them to do. If you guide the user towards the action you want them to take, you’re that much closer to converting that prospect into a customer.

4) Up to Date Content

Bottom line is, if your website has out of date content, it very well could be hurting the overall authority of your website. Non-relevant, or outdated content can negatively impact a user’s experience. If you update your website with new imagery, specials, videos, company news, etc. it’s bound to pay off in the long run.
